Yes – we can be visible

Posted on March 31st, 2010 in Women and Visible | No Comments »

A friend e-mailed me a most inspiring message about “Yes We Can” – the Hoyt father and son completing a triathlon in the States. I cried at the miracle of what can be achieved.

My son, with hundreds of other men and women, is competing in a duathlon this Easter Monday. I am so proud of him and all those taking part, ranging from teenagers to seventy year olds.  They are all inspiring and I will be there to yell, shout, clap and cheer them all on.  They are making themselves visible to the world – getting the most out of life.

I hope you will also make yourself visible this Easter and cheer and clap yourself on in whatever you decide to do.  Have a good one.

CLEANING POEM

I asked the Lord to tell me why my house is such a mess

He asked if I’d been “computering” and I had to answer “Yes”.

He told me to get off my butt, and tidy up the house.

And so I started cleaning up – the smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.  That really did the trick

I was just admiring my good work, I didn’t mean to “click”.

But click, I did, and oops – I found a real absorbing site

That I got Sooo way into it – I was into it all night.

So nothing’s changed except my mouse, It’s as shiny as the sun.

I guess my house will stay a mess, while I sit here on my bum!

A Happy International Women’s Day to us All

Posted on March 8th, 2010 in Women and Visible | No Comments »

As the world celebrates International Women’s Day (on the day that the first woman Director gets an Oscar), let’s celebrate all the hard-working women in the world who inspire us to get up and go.

Each of our gifts are precious, needed, to be shared and enjoyed by the world.

So three cheers to you who are actively involved in your life, being visible and not sitting on the fence waiting for life to happen.
