Happy IVGLDSW Day!

Posted on May 18th, 2010 in Women and Visible | No Comments »

I received this from Anne and wanted to share it with you.

Today is International Very Good Looking, Damn Smart Woman’s Day, so please send this message to someone you think fits this description.  Please do not send it back to me as I have already received it from a Very Good Looking, Damn Smart Woman!  And remember this motto to live by: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, totally worn out and screaming ‘WOOO HOOOOO what a ride!’

Someone is certainly being visible!  What a way to go!

Nicholas Roerich – The Messenger of Beauty

Posted on May 4th, 2010 in Women and Visible | No Comments »

You know the old one of how we look is important?  Well I’ve just been informed that there will be a talk and workshop on Nicholas Roerich, known as the Messenger of Beauty, who was a Russian artist, archaeologist, explorer, philosopher, humanist and peace activist.  In a talk in the 20′s called “The Spiritual Garment”, he emphasised that “apart from an external beauty, dress has a deep intrinsic meaning”.

So it could be useful to reflect on what you associate with, or what (to you) might express the idea of “the spiritual garment”.

I find it quite fascinating as it is still in line with how we make ourselves visible in the world.
